Tungsten – “W” (Also known as Wolfram)
Wire, Bar, Crucible, Sheet, Billet
Tungsten has a high melting point of 6170°F (3410°C). It has a low coefficient thermal expansion and low vapour pressure at elevated temperatures, it also has good thermal and electrical conductivity.
Tungsten has a high density point and melting point. Tungsten is an outstanding material for vacuum equipment, dimensional stability, glass seals and furnace manufacturing. Its high density gives it a capacity to absorb radioactive radiation. When added to steel it will heighten physical properties and alloy with, copper, iron, nickel to produce high density machinable materials.
Tungsten can be used in industrial applications for lighting, radiation, shielding, medical devices, to support structures for power tubes, vacuum heating, evaporation sources in metallizing processes, office machinery etc.
